International Advisory Board
Six renowned experts from Europe, Asia and North America are members of our International Advisory Board. It was constituted in spring 2024. The Advisory Board supports us in our long-term strategic planning, particularly with regard to our further internationalization.
The members include the following experts:
- Professor Martin Stratmann (Germany), former President of the Max Planck Society as Chairman
- Professor Daniel Diermeier (USA), Chancellor (President) of Vanderbilt University, Nashville
- Professor Dr. Louise O. Fresco (Netherlands), former President of Wageningen University and Research
- Professor Makoto Gonokami (Japan), President of the RIKEN Institute, former President of the University of Tokyo
- Professor Susan M. Kauzlarich (USA), Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, University of California, Davis
- Professor Rocky Tuan (China), Vice-Chancellor (President) of the Chinese University of Hong Kong
They are renowned and experienced scientists or science managers who are or were active in prominent positions at their respective universities or research institutions. In their advisory role, they are to consider new and existing directions for the UA Ruhr as well as international benchmarking. In particular, the Board advises on the positioning of the UA Ruhr within the framework of the Excellence Strategy and provides important impulses from different university systems and areas of experience.
