Well thought-out and sustainable research data management promotes the efficiency and transparency of excellent research. The skills for this are taught in the RDM curriculum of the University Alliance Ruhr.

In order to provide its 14,000 researchers with optimal support in research data management (RDM), the University Alliance Ruhr offers a wide range of training courses for researchers at all career levels and in all subject areas. As a collaboration between the three locations, the RDM curriculum efficiently combines the expertise of the service centers at Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University and the University of Duisburg-Essen in modular workshops.

The curriculum consists of all-day basic training courses, some with a subject-specific focus, and in-depth courses that are held online for easy participation across all locations. The in-depth module includes, for example, hands-on workshops on the RDM tools available at the UA Ruhr, introductions to programming languages such as R and Python for data analysis as well as insights into legal issues and the implementation of good scientific practice.

Overall, the curriculum enables researchers to engage more intensively with specific subject areas, try out practical RDM tools directly and exchange ideas with each other. A certificate of attendance is issued for each completed event. Those who take part in a basic training course and two in-depth modules also receive the RDM badge as proof of the skills they have acquired.

Registration is now possible online. You can find more information on the hompepages of the universities:
