6th Materials Chain International Conference: Focus on inorganic functional materials

The 6th Materials Chain International Conference: Inorganic Functional Materials brings together researchers from all over the world to present and discuss the latest advancements and applications of inorganic functional materials.

Due to their intrinsic properties, inorganic functional materials have shown the potential to improve advanced technologies in various fields. Even more in the context of a sustainable future, these materials play a key role in developing applications for green technologies, like efficient energy conversion and storage.

The event features twelve invited talks and a poster session. Leading experts from Europe, the USA and China will exchange their research and knowledge across five thematic sessions. The Research Center Future Energy Materials and Systems of the University Alliance Ruhr is also involved in this conference: As a member of the scientific committee Professor Silvana Botti from the Ruhr University Bochum has contributed to the scientific program and Professor Gabi Schierning from the University of Duisburg-Essen has been invited to give a talk as an expert in phase transitions of shape memory alloys.

The Materials Chain International Conference: Inorganic Functional Materials takes place on September 12th at the Convention Centre of the Ruhr University Bochum. Participation is free of charge and registration is open until August 28th. The program and further information about the 6th MCIC are available online.

Materials Chain Research Network of the University Alliance Ruhr
The Materials Chain Research Network brings together materials scientists of more than 250 research groups in the Ruhr area, including internationally renowned experts and highly qualified early-career scientists. Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University, University of Duisburg-Essen and their partners maintain a close collaboration and combine a wide range of research competencies - from atomic-scale characterization to component manufacturing.

Research Center Future Energy Materials and Systems
The Research Center Future Energy Materials and Systems was founded in 2022 within the Ruhr-Konferenz. The researchers aims to develop new materials that are urgently needed for energy carrier generation, energy conversion, storage, and transport in a targeted, rapid and sustainable manner.
